OttawaBlog is looking for volunteer writers, local voices, community members, students, photographers, event lovers, food fans, sports followers, and everyday Ottawans who want to share stories about the city.

If something is happening in Ottawa, happened near you, or deserves more attention, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Can Write About

We welcome submissions about almost anything connected to Ottawa and the surrounding area, including:

• Local news and community updates
• Events, festivals, and public gatherings
• Restaurant, café, and food reviews
• Things to do in Ottawa
• Neighbourhood stories
• Sports and local teams
• Arts, culture, music, and entertainment
• Transit, weather, closures, and city life
• Opinion pieces about Ottawa issues
• Personal stories from around the city
• Photos, videos, and first-hand experiences

Who Can Submit?

Anyone with something useful, interesting, or timely to share about Ottawa can submit. You do not need to be a professional writer.

We’re especially interested in hearing from people who are close to the story — residents, students, workers, business owners, volunteers, event organizers, and people who simply noticed something worth talking about.

What You’ll Get

If we publish your submission, we will give you full credit as the author.

You may also include a short author bio and one link back to your website, blog, social media profile, business, portfolio, or project.

Submission Guidelines

• Your article should be related to Ottawa or nearby communities.
• Please write in clear and respectful language.
• Original writing only — do not send copied content.
• If you include photos, please make sure you took them or have permission to use them.
• Include your name exactly as you want it displayed.
• Include your link if you would like a backlink.
• We may edit submissions for spelling, grammar, formatting, clarity, or length.
